Legacy of Faith

Important News
From The Maryland South Area Team

Four prayer warriors from the Maryland South Region of Aglow International have recently transitioned to heaven.

Monica Gross, a beloved member of the Solomons, Maryland Lighthouse, transitioned in December 2023. She had previously served as President of the Solomons Lighthouse and was known for her sweet spirit and quiet resilience. Despite staying in the background, Monica was a steadfast pillar in the body of Christ, grounded in the Word of God, prayer, and faith. Her faithfulness was unwavering.

Monica loved Aglow for its impact on people's lives. As President of the Solomons Lighthouse and an intercessor for many years, she embodied compassion, mercy, and patience. Despite facing many difficult situations, her strong faith in the Lord gave her great endurance and perseverance. Monica often reassured others by saying, "Everything will be alright." She had a heart for comforting and encouraging those in need, counseling them, listening to their grief, and praying with and for them. After the death of both her children, she became a grief counselor through her local church.

Gloria Miller transitioned in February 2024. She served as President of the Waldorf, Maryland Lighthouse and Administrative Secretary on the Maryland South Area Team. Gloria served the ministry of Aglow for over 30 years with various leadership positions. Gloria was an accomplished speaker and teacher of the Word of God.  Gloria hosted many prayer groups, bible studies, and meetings in her home all for the advancement of the Kingdom of God. Gloria was deeply sensitive to the Holy Spirit and played a significant role in her community.

Dollie Morina-Smith transitioned in May 2024. She led an evangelistic team at the Capitol Heights, Maryland Lighthouse, organizing trips to nursing homes to minister to residents and participating in street ministry. For many years Dollie served as a missionary with her local church helping those who needed to hear the message of Christ. Dollie and her team provided food, prayer, and love to the homeless, embodying the spirit of outreach and service.

On the morning of July 8, 2024, Shirley Farrell joined her Beloved Lord and is now celebrating all His goodness in the heavenly realms!  We will miss Shirley but rejoice at the good news of her victory.  Shirley was a committed and diligent member of the Waldorf Lighthouse for many years.  Not only did she serve as President of the LH, but she also came to the aid of anyone who needed support.  She was always ready to pick up the baton and assist with Aglow activities.  She could always be relied on to step up and help out. Not only was Shirley a worker bee, but her love and kindness poured out toward all those she worked with.  She also periodically opened her home to Aglow activities and events.

Shirley was a willing servant, friend, and leader in the Lord, and her absence will be felt.

These four women left a lasting legacy of faith, compassion, and dedication to their communities and Aglow International's mission.
